Watching 'Go Back To Where You Came From' was certainly interesting. The different views of the participants and how much they changed their views at the end was dramatic. Adam at the start thought the 'boat people' were criminals for entering Australia illegally, but then at the end after seeing what these people go through he said that he would get on a boat if he could.
At the start I thought like Adam, but I actually changed the same way he did toward the end. I felt like I would probably get on a boat to if my life was at risk, knowing that at any moment I could be taken away and killed, and knowing there is a safer place in the world I would try everything to get there.
The events that occurred throughout the series most definitely impacted me and my thoughts of asylum seekers.
Great reflection thanks Taine. I liked that you discussed the parallels between your reaction and that of Adam, a good writing technique. Why do you think the producers selected people like Adam? What was their intention? Well done, Ms Lidgerwood
